Join us and present your research in San Diego!

SCIREQ is hosting a flexiVent User Group Meeting Wednesday, April 30, 2014 following the Experimental Biology conference in San Diego. Join our team for a day of scientific presentations and discussions to learn more about the flexiVent’s capabilities and its applications while sharing your feedback with other users.

Would you like to present your research?

We are currently searching for flexiVent users to present their work during our User Group Meeting in San Diego. This is a great opportunity to share and exchange with fellow flexiVent users. See what one of our past presenters had to say about his experience:

"My research program uses the flexiVent to characterize the effects of ventilator induced lung injury and acute respiratory distress syndrome on lung mechanics. I was invited to present my techniques and findings at the 2013 User Group Meeting in Boston. This was a great chance for me to present my work outside the community of researchers who I typically encounter at conferences. Discussions at lunch and after my talk lead to an ongoing collaboration which wouldn't have happened otherwise."

You Can Now Measure Forced Expiration in Rats

SCIREQ's flexiVent negative pressure-driven forced expiration (NPFE) extension is now available for rats! Like previously reported in mice1, this extension offers the possibility to perform refined forced expiration measurements in a wider range of laboratory animals. This is done through the unique combination of the NPFE technique with the traditional forced oscillation (FO) measurements of the flexiVent in a single set-up.

Forced Expired Volume (FEV) is a widely accepted spirometry outcome in clinical settings. SCIREQ's new NPFE extension for rats now expands the measurement range available in that species with forced expiration parameters that resemble those obtained in humans like FEV, forced expired flow (FEFx), forced vital capacity (FVC) or peak expiratory flow (PEF).

New!

We are pleased to announce that the rat NPFE extension is currently available for the flexiVent FX and that it allows for combined NPFE and FOT measurements.

Rat NPFE extension specifications:

  • Used with flexiVent FX module 4
  • Suitable for rats from 150g - 300g
  • Chamber size: approximately 8" long x 4" in diameter
  • Contact our team to find out more about this new application and how to receive your own: [email protected] or toll-free at 1.877.572.4737.

Take advantage of our installation & training services!

"Over the years I've been in research, I've dealt with numerous companies and their representatives who have come to install equipment. [...]In the lab, during the installation of the flexiVent, I was blown away by a number of things I noticed about SCIREQ's team. By far, they proved to be one of the most poised, knowledgeable, and professional teams I've ever dealt with.

The courtesy and assistance in answering the questions and troubleshooting the problems of some of my colleagues within my department was uncommon. SCIREQ's team went above and beyond what was expected during the installation and training. [...] I learned a great deal that will aid our research program tremendously as we move forward into future projects."1

Take advantage of our wide range of services intended to support you during all aspects of your study. Our installation and training program, described elegantly above, is an effective way to transfer our knowledge and allow you to get the most out of your experiments. Once you purchase our equipment or begin working in a lab that has an existing device, we offer our services to allow new users to become the experts. Training varies from basic to advanced and our team travels to your lab to give you hands on experience. We also offer the same training via web conference to accommodate you.
